The Prep........woefully unprepared!

I've never been a prep till you drop kind of guy but even by my standards I'm feeling a little unprepared. So unprepared that I wonder whether I'll reach my destination, ahhh but that's part of the adventure I keep telling myself.

The reason for my slight trepidation is my ride, a BMW R100GS (affectionately known as 'The Muskox') I bought new on December 16th, 1994. It is a great bike that has served me well in the past but has been in storage since 2011. In fact I bought the bike back in 94 in Torrence, California in order to explore Central America, specifically Costa Rica as I was thinking of buying a dive shop there at that time. The dive shop didn't pan out so I spent a couple months exploring Central America and fell in love with it all, but especially Guatemala. The scenery, the Mayan ruins, the roads and the adventure were all top notch and I vowed one day I'd return, well that day has come, a mere 24 years later, and on the same bike no less!
