Scott is an awesome host. Great storyteller, will tell you everything you want to know about Gabriola and then some. The house is neatly tucked away in between the trees and felt very warm even during a snowstorm. He made us feel very welcome.
Jim (CA) - Excellent location to vacate.
The whole set up of the place is awesome. A lot of windows allows extra natural light in. The natural wood trims and ceiling gives you that cottage feeling. The place is in brand new conditions... Makes you feel like it your own.
Joanna (GB) - Almost worth getting married again so I could honeymoon here.
Scott is the perfect host helpful great company while giving you space to enjoy his beautiful home. I had the best night sleep I have had in years Perfect position on the island in what felt like a clearing in the forest. I also liked the relaxed breakfast.
Devan (CA) - Perfect Get away!
Scott was amazing. He is a wonderful host and is very respectful of your personal space. We hardly saw him except for check-in and check-out as he has his own suite in the lower level of the house. But he's always happy to chat, and share info about the island and things to do. We traveled with two young kids (4 and 8) so we rented both bedrooms and had the house to ourselves. We all loved the property and exploring the island. It was quiet and peaceful and I would go back in a heartbeat. Tip: order pizza (to go) from the wood fire grill restaurant and eat on the beautiful deck at the b&b surrounded by nature for an easy stress-free supper. Perfect for kids and adults alike. Highly recommended if you're looking to get away!
trek1canada (Bella Bella) - Loved this B&B
The Nomadic Bull doesn't show up immediately when you google B&Bs on Gabriola, so I guess this makes it a hidden gem. We spent two nights there and thoroughly enjoyed it! The room was large and tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Everything was clean and unassuming which made it feel more like home. The host Scott made us feel at home but didn't hover over us although we had great conversations about the island. He made sure we had a lovely loaf of Gabe bread and coffee and tea and cereals. He also left out a plate of fruit, and for us, that was perfect. We brought some of our own food which we kept in the fridge. We didn't have to worry about getting up for breakfast and to tell you the truth, it was so quiet there that we slept in later than we normally do. Wifi access was great. We watched two fantastic movies on Netflix during our stay. I highly recommend this place for a couple or for a family as it is a lot like a guest house with a spacious living room area to sit and read or visit. I had a problem with my paypal account and so I called Scott. He was so accommodating. I would recommend this over booking online actually.

Scott has built a place (by himself!) that is nestled in the woods on possibly the nicest Crescent on Gabriola Island. Quiet from human noise but lovely with Frogs croaking in the spring and birds throughout the day. Wild turkeys strolled the driveway one day! Easy access to the Ferry and the Village makes it convenient by Car, Motorcycle or Bicycle.Such a nice relaxing place with all you need for a pleasant stay.

Beautiful home.. even better host.. we loved every part of our stay.. Scott provided us local maps and guidelines and helped to plan our days too.. Most of all, very friendly, accommodative and flexible.. Would recommend the place for anyone who wants to explore Gabriola/Nanaimo..

We biked from the ferry through Gabriola village to the Nomadic Bull. It only took 20 minutes. Scott was there to greet us and showed us to our beautiful room and bathroom. We had the second floor to ourselves and also felt completely welcome to use the kitchen, living room and deck. This BNB is located on a picturesque property complete with its own resident owl. Scott was the perfect host making us feel welcome but at the same time giving us space to enjoy ourselves and get settled in. We spent a lot of time in the village where there was a theatre festival going on. It is a short 10 minute bike ride away. We would highly recommend the Nomadic Bull to anyone who wanted a vacation on Gabriola.

Our stay at the Nomadic Bull B&B was simply fantastic. We had such a comfortable stay and peaceful sleep. The house, room and property are beautiful, clean, and well-equipped with everything you will need for a relaxing night away. Scott and his son were amazing hosts, making sure we were comfortable and happy. Scott seems like a very cool person with interesting life experiences and very nice to chat with if you're looking for good conversation! This is a new venture for Scott and his son and we were actually their first guests but we can honestly vouch that these guys seem like they've been hosting a B&B forever! - that means the Nomadic Bull can only get better from here on out so give it a try! Definitely the place to stay on Gabriola! Thank you! -Jessica and Jourdain
